Treegas Launches €14 Million Composite Gas Cylinder Project in Egypt

Treegas has laid the foundation stone for a €14 million composite LPG cylinder manufacturing and filling facility in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, with an annual production capacity of 500,000 cylinders.

In a significant step toward strengthening Egypt’s national industry, Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, witnessed the laying of the foundation stone for the Treegas composite LPG cylinder project in the Sokhna Industrial Zone.

Major Industrial Investment

€14 Million Investment in Advanced Composite LPG Cylinder Manufacturing

The Treegas project represents a total investment of approximately €14 million, equivalent to around EGP 811 million, and reflects Egypt’s commitment to localizing advanced industrial technology.

A New Industrial Project in Sokhna

The Treegas project is being developed within the Sokhna Industrial Zone of the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The facility will specialize in the manufacturing and filling of fiberglass composite LPG cylinders.

The project reflects the Egyptian state’s efforts to support local manufacturing, attract industrial investment, and transfer advanced technology to the domestic market.

€14 Million Total project investment
500,000 Cylinders annually
250 Direct job opportunities
2 Phases Industrial development plan

First Phase: Composite Cylinder Manufacturing and Filling

The first phase of the project will focus on establishing a modern factory for the manufacturing and filling of composite LPG cylinders.

The facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 500,000 cylinders and will operate using advanced manufacturing technology in accordance with international standards.

This phase will also include the transfer and localization of manufacturing technology, the establishment of the required infrastructure, and the creation of approximately 250 direct job opportunities.

  • Manufacturing fiberglass composite LPG cylinders.
  • Establishing an integrated LPG cylinder filling facility.
  • Transferring and localizing advanced production technology.
  • Applying international manufacturing and safety standards.
  • Creating 250 direct employment opportunities.

Second Phase: Gas Regulators and Valve Production

The second phase of the project will include the establishment of assembly and production lines for gas pressure regulators and cylinder valves.

This phase represents an investment of approximately €7 million and aims to localize the technology required to manufacture these essential cylinder components in Egypt.

Technology Localization

Building an Integrated Composite LPG Cylinder Industry

By manufacturing cylinders, valves, and pressure regulators locally, Treegas aims to establish an integrated industrial ecosystem that reduces dependence on imported components and supports Egyptian exports.

Supporting Industrial Growth in the SCZone

The project highlights the Suez Canal Economic Zone’s role in providing an attractive investment environment for both local and international investors.

It also demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to supporting industrial projects, providing the necessary infrastructure, and encouraging the localization of strategic industries in Egypt.

The Treegas project represents an important step toward developing a modern and fully integrated composite LPG cylinder industry in Egypt.
